Ref. KAT-1024 / Formal proposal
Resolution of the Montreal Café Dispute
Please find below my formal submission in response to your posted call for proposals. I note that my earlier correspondence on the café question is still open, and I have chosen to treat this as an ongoing procurement process rather than a rejection.
Executive summary
A side quest to settle once and for all which café in Montreal is the best. You nominate one, I nominate one, and a neutral third café breaks the tie.
Scope of work
- Three cafés, one afternoon, walking between them
- One drink and one pastry per stop, scored blind on a shared scorecard (provided by the vendor)
- Arguing is permitted and encouraged, in line with your stated interests
Deliverables
- A binding ruling on Montreal's best café
- Croissants, paid for by the losing party
- Optional extension phase: a walk up the mountain, subject to weather and mutual satisfaction
Timeline
This weekend, or any date of your choosing. This offer stays valid until the croissants go stale.
Budget
Fully covered by the vendor, except the croissants above, which are performance-based.
Risk assessment
Minor risk of the third café turning into a fourth. No mitigation planned.
I look forward to your review and remain available for a site visit at your earliest convenience.
